The Importance of STEM for Children’s Future
STEM education is widely known, especially in the United States of America for early childhood education. STEM itself stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics that empower today’s education system and have influenced the career path for children. STEM education is problem-based learning for students to utilize science, technology, engineering and mathematics principles not only into their future career but also into their daily lives (White, 2014).
STEM education proves that by empowering these four subjects in their classrooms, they will be exposed to real life situations that helps develop their self-esteem and confidence, while inspiring their own willingness to tackle challenges and learn from their mistakes. By mastering these subjects, the children can develop their cognitive agility that will help them get through challenges in their daily lives (McClure et al., 2017).
